Omega watches just dropped their 65th-anniversary edition of the Speedmaster watch, the Omega Speedmaster Canopus Gold. It comes in a tulip tree wooden box inspired by the original Speedmaster cases. The Speedmaster Canopus Gold pays homage to the company’s first Speedmaster watch, circa 1957. This 38.6 mm model, crafted in 18K Canopus Gold, features a deep black onyx dial with a vintage Omega logo and oval O typography typical of the first Speedmaster models. It is also water-resistant to 60 meters (200 feet).

Omega’s luxury watch boasts 18K white gold Canopus alloy hands and indexes. The company says Canopus Gold provides the same standard characteristics as other 18K golds, with high brilliance, whiteness, and longevity, making it ideal for their high-end timepieces. The Canopus Gold has three sub-dials: a second-hand display, a 30-minute recorder, a 12-hour recorder, and a central chronograph function. The watch’s scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment protects both sides. A Seahorse design engraved inside the sapphire crystal glass on the back, with a stunning blue sapphire eye, reveals a clear view of the watch’s inner workings. The Omega Speedmaster Canopus Gold will be available soon in select stores.
