Ollech & Wajs, a name synonymous with precision timing instruments and Swiss watchmaking excellence, unveils its latest masterpiece: the OW RALLYCHRON. Born from a collaboration between Ollech & Wajs and classic car collector Hervé Charbonneaux, the RALLYCHRON is more than just a watch; it’s a tribute to the rich history of motor racing and the legendary circuits that have defined the sport.

At the heart of the Ollech & Wajs OW RALLYCHRON lies a meticulously crafted automatic Valjoux 7753 movement, a direct descendant of the historic Valjoux 72 that powered some of the most revered Swiss chronographs of the 1960s and 1970s. This custom-engraved movement undergoes rigorous testing and adjustments to achieve the coveted OW Precision rating, ensuring unparalleled accuracy and reliability.

The design of the Ollech & Wajs RALLYCHRON is a nod to the golden era of motor racing, with a greyscale dial reminiscent of vintage news photography capturing the trackside action of the 1960s. The chronograph hands, finished in Orange Super-LumiNova®, provide optimal readability in low-light driving conditions, while the black-and-white chequered baton hands pay homage to the iconic racing flag.

One of the most intriguing features of the RALLYCHRON is the hypothetical historic ‘perfect lap’ times engraved on the bezel, representing 11 of the world’s most iconic race tracks. These lap times, meticulously calculated based on analysis of the 1965–69 race seasons, add a layer of storytelling and nostalgia to the watch, sparking debates among motorsport enthusiasts.

In terms of construction, the RALLYCHRON is built to endure the rigors of the track and beyond. With a water resistance of up to 300 meters, it surpasses its 1960s counterparts, making it suitable for both racing and everyday wear. The watch is offered with a handcrafted Italian leather racing strap or a durable stainless steel mesh bracelet, ensuring comfort and style in any setting.

The Ollech & Wajs OW RALLYCHRON will be available for purchase starting March 30th, with the first 56 watches featuring numbered crowns in homage to the year Ollech & Wajs was founded: 1956. For those looking to secure one of these limited-edition timepieces, reservations can be made by visiting the company website.
