Nothing has officially unveiled its first open wearable stereo (OWS) earbuds, the Nothing Ear (Open) surroundings. These earbuds offer a more natural listening experience than traditional noise-canceling earbuds. By resting just inside your ear, they provide a comfortable alternative to silicone-tipped models.
Priced at $149, the Ear (Open) follows a growing trend, similar to Shokz’s bone conduction headphones and Bose’s $299 Ultra Open earbuds, but with a more affordable price tag.
Despite lacking active noise cancellation, the Nothing Ear (Open) delivers solid battery life—up to eight hours on a full charge and 30 hours with its slim, portable charging case. The 14.2-millimeter drivers, the largest Nothing has used, ensure high-quality sound with minimal leakage, while Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and dual microphones offer enhanced call clarity.
The earbuds’ design, featuring a three-point balance system and silicone ear hooks, helps them stay secure and comfortable throughout the day. Equipped with Bluetooth 5.3 and a “Low Lag Mode” for gaming, these earbuds are ready for multitasking between devices. Preorders have begun, and global availability will be on October 1st.
