Designed by Peter Moore, the Creative Director at Nike and Adidas from the 1970s to the late 1990s, the Nike Dunk Low is the low-profile version of Nike’s ubiquitous Dunk silhouette, also designed by Moore. While the Dunk Low was never considered a performance sneaker like its predecessor, it does manage to channel an 80s vibe with its premium leather upper with crisp overlays. Now, Nike will soon bring back the Dunk Low Retro.
The upper of the Nike Dunk Low Retro White Black is constructed of premium white leather with black leather overlays and the classic Nike Swoosh. Classic Nike branding is featured on the nylon tongue – a nod to traditional Dunk design elements. The modern foam midsole offers lightweight, responsive cushioning, while a padded, low-cut collar adds a sleek look that feels comfortable. The shoe’s bold color blocking is reminiscent of the original colorway inspiration: school team colors.
“From the college ballers (and their fans) who wore it in the 80s to the skateboarders who popularized it again in the 2000s, the Dunk has always been the connective tissue for crews with passions ranging from sport to everything beyond it. The Dunk celebrates the crew and what’s true to you.” The Nike Dunk Low Retro will be available starting on November 4th at 7:00 AM PDT for $110.
