MSI just shook up Computex 2025 with the reveal of its latest handheld gaming PC—the Claw A8 BZ2EM —a sleek, performance-focused device powered by AMD’s new Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU. Ditching Intel in favor of AMD marks a notable pivot for MSI, especially following the success of the Intel-powered Claw 8 AI+. The Claw A8 keeps the fan-favorite 8-inch FHD+ display (1920 x 1200), but everything else—from the internals to the ergonomics—has been refined with mobile gamers in mind.

With support for up to 24GB LPDDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi 6E plus Bluetooth 5.3, the Claw A8 looks to offer a slightly more accessible spec sheet than its AI+ sibling, but still packs a serious next-gen punch. Performance comparisons between the Ryzen Z2 Extreme and Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V are already stirring buzz, especially since MSI might position this model as a more affordable but still powerful alternative.
Aesthetically, MSI brings new flair to its handheld line with a bold green colorway joining the existing snow-white finish. The revised chassis features curved, inward-sloping grips similar to the ROG Ally, which should enhance long-session comfort.
While pricing and availability details are still under wraps, the Claw A8 BZ2EM looks primed to compete with the best in the portable gaming market. It’s a big move by MSI—and one that gamers should keep their eyes on. There’s no confirmation on a release date, price, or availability.
