In celebration of what would have been Jim Marshall’s 100th birthday, Marshall Studio has unveiled its latest addition to the lineup – the Studio JTM range. This new series pays homage to the iconic first Marshall amp, the JTM, originally produced in 1962. With its timeless, warm, and smooth tone, the JTM has inspired generations of musicians to unleash their musical visions upon the world.

The Marshall Studio JTM range features four distinct products: a 20W head, 20W combo amp, and 1×12” and 2×12” cabs, all adorned with period-correct aesthetics like the famous red enamel poured “coffin” logo and luxurious fawn fret. Drawing from the original JTM45, which earned accolades from guitar legends like Gary Moore, Richie Blackmore, and Angus Young, the Studio JTM recreates that legendary sound with meticulous attention to detail. Handmade in the UK factory in Milton Keynes, each amp embodies the ethos that drove the creation of the JTM – more tone, more gain, and more grit.

Terry Marshall, Jim Marshall’s son and the creator of the original JTM45, expressed his excitement, saying, “When I was demonstrated the Studio JTM, it took me back to my original JTM45; it was my sound… I feel like it is going to be something special.”

In addition to exceptional sound quality, convenience is a key feature of the Marshall Studio JTM’s design. It has a smaller footprint and is lighter than its historical counterpart, making it easily transportable and suitable for various performance environments. Ideal for home use or smaller stages, the amp incorporates built-in power reduction technology, allowing players to switch between 20W and 5W settings, enabling them to achieve the defining JTM sound anywhere.

The Marshall Studio JTM combines components that defined the iconic JTM tone, including ECC83 preamp values, 5881 power amp valves, ECC83 phase splitter, and G12M-65 Creamback Celestion speakers, creating a blend of warm, growling, and versatile sound reminiscent of the golden age of rock and roll. The prices for the Studio JTM range start at $1,480, offering the opportunity for modern musicians to embrace the timeless legacy of Marshall’s iconic amps, with options running up to $2,650.
