Kloof 119A by SAOTA

This residence’s inverted pyramid roof ingeniously creates a panoramic clerestory window that surrounds its upper floors.

Over the past three decades, the award-winning Cape Town architecture firm SAOTA has expanded well beyond South Africa to complete its construction projects in more than 85 countries around the world. Its strong Cape Town roots remain evident, however, it its Kloof 119A residence.

Located on one of the most prominent roads in Cape Town, Kloof 119A offers exceptional views of both Table Mountain and Signal Hill. Nestled into the base of Cape Town’s iconic Lion’s Head, the property serves as an incredible vantage point to take in the majesty of this massive and monolithic geological formation. Kloof 119A’s inverted pyramid-shaped roof ingeniously provides space for a panoramic clerestory window that surrounds its upper floors.

Kloof 119A’s third floor reserves the structure’s best views for general living areas such as a striking open plan kitchen and lounge. Family work and bedroom spaces are on the second level, and the lower level features a garage, guest room, gym, and cinema.
