The latest entrant in the restomod renaissance comes from Kalmar Automotive. Its 7‑97 Turbo takes the iconic Porsche 930 and rebuilds it from the ground up using modern materials and contemporary engineering. Underneath the carbon fibre bodywork sits a 3.2‑litre turbocharged flat‑six producing over 670 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque.

Power is routed to all four wheels via adaptive suspension and modern traction control, giving the car both grip and composure that traditional 930s could only dream of. Only eleven examples will be built, making each one a collectible on wheels.

Design cues pay tribute to the 1980s original, from the whale‑tail spoiler to the front intakes inspired by the legendary R model. Yet every panel is carbon fibre, reducing weight while improving rigidity. Adjustable ride height and ceramic brakes ensure the 7‑97 Turbo can handle both track days and spirited drives on winding back roads.

Inside, the cabin mixes bespoke materials with subtle tech upgrades, maintaining a period‑correct feel while accommodating modern comforts like climate control and infotainment.

With its limited production and attention to detail, the 7‑97 Turbo stands out even among today’s crowded field of exotic restomods.
