JBL just took high-end audio to new altitudes. Unveiled at HIGH END Munich 2025, the brand’s new Summit Series loudspeakers—Makalu, Pumori, and Ama—are named after Himalayan peaks and built with similarly towering ambitions. Expanding the Summit line to five models, these new entries aren’t just a nod to JBL’s heritage (think Everest and K2); they’re a bold push into the future of premium sound design.

The flagship Makalu is a full-sized 3-way floorstander with a 12-inch woofer, 8-inch midrange, and JBL’s patented D2 compression driver paired with an HDI Sonoglass horn. Wrapped in deep ebony veneer or high-gloss piano black, it delivers what JBL calls “breathtaking sonic scale” worthy of any reference-level room. Slightly smaller but equally serious, the Pumori houses a 10-inch woofer and shares the same drivers and horn tech, tuned for warmth, realism, and musicality in a more compact form.

For those with limited space but unlimited taste, the Ama offers a compact 2-way monitor that captures “the heart of the music” with an 8-inch woofer and the D2 compression driver, housed in a sleek stand-mounted cabinet. The models include IsoAcoustics Isolation Feet, Rhodium-plated posts, and MultiCap Crossovers for uncompromising clarity and depth.

JBL’s speakers will be available later in 2025, priced from $19,995 to $44,995 per pair.
