When it comes to horology, tourbillon movements are at the apex of the craft. Lauded for their supreme engineering and unrivaled accuracy, the tourbillon is to watchmaking as Bugatti is to building automobiles. The Bugatti Chiron is for all intents and purposes at the same level of the tourbillon when it comes to incorporating intricately crafted mechanics that push the limits of their respective crafts.
The Jacob & Co x Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon features a condensed version of the hypercar’s W16 engine to power its timekeeping. Using 16 miniature pistons, 4 springs, and 2 turbochargers, the watch embeds elements of the Chiron under its sapphire crystal. The case of this watch is made from black titanium and adorned with a number of different gems. Limited to just 250 units, this watch is almost as exclusive as the hypercar that inspired its design, and comes with a $280,000 price tag.
