One of the golden rules of interior design is the considered use of lamps to create pockets of light that accentuate the room’s best features. It’s one of the guiding principles behind the new light sculptures by Frero, the high-end boutique manufacturer based in Belgium. Created by two brothers, Frero’s Tala Asa light sculptures draw on inspiration from their parents’ extensive experience in the vintage furniture and interior design industry. The result is a stunning collection of sculptured lights that brings together subtle and atmospheric ambient lighting with perfectly formed sculpted elements.
There are six light sculptures available in the collection, each offering a unique form that echoes classical sculptures and the work of Henry Moore. Frero’s Tala Asa light sculptures collection begins with the Fuca, a simple yet effective design that combines square elements and an opening for the light to illuminate the sides. The Coco design builds on the Fuca with two open squares with side slots, doubling the available light and offering equilibrium, through repetition.
Even more elaborate is the Sunda design, taking its queue from tectonic plates with an oblique approach to its construction intended to replicate the transition zone between the Australian Plate and the Southeast Asian Plate. For the final two entries in the collection of Frero’s Tala Asa light sculptures, a return to simplicity informs the designs.
The Suma smooths out the edges seen in the Fuca capturing the light and shadows of the Ring of Fire with a powerful artistic presence. Lastly, the Anta sculpture light offers a more playful impression, with three bold stripes allowing the light to spill out into the room.
Available in a range of colors including Bone, Sienna, and Oliva, the Tala Asa light sculptures are a bold, striking collection of sculpted lights guaranteed to make an impression.
