With thousands of stores worldwide, IKEA has become a household name and the go-to destination for contemporary furniture around the home. The new IKEA Nytillverkad Collection Sixth Edition brings together a selection of chairs, shelves, and accessories that draw inspiration from the manufacturer’s iconic 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s styles.

Available in stores starting in February 2025, the IKEA Nytillverkad Collection Sixth Edition includes four standalone chits designed by Niels Gammelgaard and other notable figures from the brand that reflect its color-forward approach to aesthetics. It begins with the MOFALLA steel tube easy chair, followed by the iconic 1978 COX foldable chair designed for the modern living room.

Two additional chairs in the IKEA Nytillverkad Collection Sixth Edition include the MILA, an easy chair designed in 1967 by Gill Lundgren. It has been rebranded as the DYVLINGE swivel armchair and sports bold orange upholstery. Lastly, the 1969 PUCK has been reinvented for modern consumers and comes in a bright, cheerful red to liven up the home space.

In addition to the four chairs, the IKEA Nytillverkad Collection Sixth Edition has an open shelving unit based on Niels Gammelgaard’s GUIDE shelving unit from 1985. Launching as BYAKORRE, this unit combined various colors for the shelf edges, making it a welcome addition to brightly lit children’s bedrooms or living rooms.

With a range of colorful textiles, including blue cloud-patterned bed linen, the IKEA Nytillverkad Collection Sixth Edition is a wonderfully stylish update of IKEA’s rich heritage in contemporary Scandinavian furniture design.
