The smallest portable DAC is still one more object to carry. iFi’s GO cable removes that object entirely by building the digital-to-analog converter and headphone amplifier into the USB-C cable connecting a source directly to a pair of IEMs.

The GO cable terminates in 0.78mm two-pin analog connectors for compatible in-ear monitors, with a USB-C plug at the source end. An ESS Sabre DAC handles PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256, while iFi’s Dynamic Range Enhancement and THD Compensation processing target greater contrast and lower distortion. Output reaches 70mW into 32 ohms.

Silver-plated conductors carry both audio and control signals, and the inline module includes volume, playback, and call controls plus an echo-cancelling microphone. The design also works with laptops, phones, tablets, and gaming hardware including Nintendo Switch 2, where it supports GameChat. A water-resistant chassis adds some everyday protection without turning the cable into a bulky dongle.

The idea follows the same portable-hi-fi logic as the GO Link 2, but eliminates the separate headphone lead between DAC and IEM. That makes the GO cable particularly relevant for listeners who already use detachable two-pin monitors and want fewer pieces in a pocket. iFi prices the GO cable at $79, with availability scheduled for September 21.
