Hasselblad has unveiled the X2D II 100C, the latest evolution in its celebrated line of medium-format mirrorless cameras, offering a sharper balance between uncompromising image quality and everyday usability. Known for pioneering some of the most advanced imaging systems in the world, Hasselblad continues to redefine what professional photographers can expect from a medium format body.

The X2D II 100C introduces an industry-first end-to-end HDR system in a medium format, allowing photographers to capture the full spectrum of highlights and shadows without compromise. Overexposure in harsh lighting is minimized, while color retention is elevated with Hasselblad’s natural color expertise. With a 100MP sensor and HDR pipeline, images translate seamlessly to HDR-capable devices, streamlining post-production for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Beyond image quality, speed and responsiveness are key upgrades. The X2D II integrates AF-C continuous autofocus with a 425-zone PDAF system, LiDAR-assisted focusing, and a new AF illuminator for low light. Combined with continuous drive shooting, it locks onto moving subjects with ease, making it a viable tool for sport, action, and street photography. The new tilting, brighter display and 5D joystick improve handling, while Phocus Mobile 2 ensures HDR editing directly from iOS devices.

Paired with the new XCD 2.8–4/35–100E lens, the system delivers versatility across focal lengths, backed by Hasselblad’s fastest stepping motor yet. Priced at $11,098, the X2D II 100C is lighter, faster, and more responsive than its predecessor—an evolution that cements Hasselblad’s legacy while making medium format more accessible to those who demand the best.
