Grand Seiko has released a showstopper for 2025 with the Evolution 9 “Mountainscape,” a limited-edition timepiece celebrating the brand’s 65th anniversary. This is not just any watch—it’s the embodiment of cutting-edge innovation and design and is here to leave a lasting impression.
The “Mountainscape” stands tall within the Evolution 9 collection, flaunting Grand Seiko’s Hi-Beat 9SA5 caliber. This automatic movement, which debuted in 2020, provides an unparalleled 80-hour power reserve and precision ranging from +5 to -3 seconds per day. With a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, this movement isn’t just reliable; it’s a true masterpiece.
Crafted from Ever-Brilliant Steel, the “Mountainscape” is a 40mm by 47mm watch that is as tough as it is beautiful. Its striking dial pattern, inspired by the rugged surface of Mt. Iwate, adds a unique, textured depth that’s a true tribute to Japan’s natural landscapes. The applied diamond-cut indexes, logo, and date frame lend it an air of sophistication, while the blue second hand and silver-blue dial provide a sense of movement and dynamism.
