The luxury travel lifestyle brand Globe-Trotter has been at the forefront of British design since it first went into business in 1932. This venerable producer of handcrafted trunks, cases, and bags recently joined forces with an exceptional partner – iconic British menswear designer Paul Smith. After decades of incredible success in both the commercial sector and the world of high fashion, Paul Smith was officially canonized with a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth in 2000.
Paul Smith put his personal touch on the Globe-Trotter brand by redesigning its beloved 20” classic navy Trolley Case. A staple of the Globe-Trotter line, the Trolley Case isn’t only built to last, but to age gracefully. This means that the Trolley Case’s component materials (wood, leather, fabric, and metal) are specifically chosen to gain exceptional character over time.
Receiving the full Paul Smith treatment, the new Globe-Trotter x Paul Smith Trolley Case incorporates the designer’s trademark Artist Stripe of navy blue, ochre, yellow, and midnight by capping each corner with leather in these distinctive colors. The Artist Stripe motif also appears on the Trolley Case’s webbing strips, handles, and chapes.
Released in honor of Globe-Trotter’s 120th anniversary, the Globe-Trotter x Paul Smith Trolley Case is limited to a production run of just 120 units worldwide. Each case is individually signed by Paul Smith himself.
