HODINKEE’s founder and CEO Ben Clymer traces his love for wristwatches to his grandfather’s Omega Speedmaster MK40, which was given to him when he was 16. In a sense, that watch gave birth to HODINKEE. And what better watch to commemorate 10 years of watch geekery at HODINKEE?
Limited to 500 pieces, the Speedmaster HODINKEE 10th Anniversary Limited Edition features a manually wound Omega Caliber 1861 chronograph movement, housed in a vintage-sized 39.7mm case of the Speedmaster reference 2998, rather than the more famous Moonwatch. It features a sapphire crystal, dark blue-grey dial, and quirky blue, white, red and yellow hands.
The watch comes with a blue-grey leather strap and a grey NATO strap, and also a display box that hides a travel case and strap changing tool. Thoroughly attractive and quintessentially meaningful, this is how limited editions should be done. Good one, Omega.
