Ferrari Monza SP1 & Monza SP2

The Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 from its new Icona line will look like nothing else on the road.

Ferrari has officially unveiled the Monza SP1 & Monza SP2 ahead of schedule. In keeping with Ferrari’s longstanding history of producing awe-inspiring luxury vehicles, these limited edition cars are the first of a new line, dubbed the Icona.

Clearly the marketing department was on a pun kick, and we’re sure that lots of “iconic” references to the racing barchettas of the late 1940s will follow just as soon as Ferrari is a bit more forthcoming about all of the Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 details.

What we do know is that the Monza SPA will offer an “uncompromising” and “truly unique experience behind the wheel.” The released photos make it clear that the Monza SP1 will look like nothing else on the road. While the Monza SP1 is a single seater, the Monza SP2 will offer a passenger seat and the promise of “blistering speed,” removing the traditional windshield in favor of a patented “Virtual Wind Shield” technology. This technology will make drivers and passengers feel as if they are Formula 1 drivers (let’s hope that they have the skills to match) since the Monza SP2 produces 799 hp and 530 lb-ft of torque. In fact, both the Ferrari Monza SP1 & Monza SP2 can reach top speeds in excess of 186 mph.
