Ferrari is in an admirable position as a car company. The demand for their vehicles almost always surpasses supply, where the storied Italian brand can be selective about who gets their cars, especially with their specialty vehicles like the highly limited LaFerrari. You can’t just be ready to write a check for the hefty price tag, you have to be invited.
Their latest specialty vehicle that has gotten Ferrari fans and collectors salivating is the limited edition Ferrari J50. Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ferrari’s presence in Japan, Ferrari will create just 10 examples of the most striking and beautiful V8 Ferrari in recent history. The vehicle is based on the very capable 488 Spider, but wears a much more aggressive and futuristic body, with slim horizontal headlights, black accent line that extends to the air scoop, aggressive front wing, and a “helmet visor” windscreen that wraps around the cabin. A set of aggressive 20-inch forged wheels complete the exterior. The cabin stays fairly untouched, which is no bad thing since we had no complains with the 488 Spider’s driver focused interior. Performance wise, Ferrari has been able to massage 20 more ponies from the already potent 3.9-liter V8 from the 488 Spider. With just 10 examples to be made, better hope that you’re on Ferrari’s good side if you want one.
