The Faria House by Estúdio OLO, located in Brazil, is a masterclass in blending modern functionality with timeless warmth. Originally an aging residence with untapped potential, this renovation transformed the space into a seamless fusion of open, airy design and intimate living areas. The project prioritized natural light, ventilation, and a strong connection to the outdoors, proving that a well-designed home is as much about its environment as its structure.

To maximize livability, the ground floor saw a complete reconfiguration. The old garage made way for a cozy TV room, while the carport shifted to the front setback. Now an expansive focal point, the reimagined kitchen flows effortlessly into a gourmet space perfect for entertaining. A former backyard shed found new life as a multi-purpose studio, guest bedroom, and laundry area. Anchoring the garden is a striking cobogó arch, a sculptural lattice that filters sunlight while ensuring privacy.

Upstairs, the expansion introduced a spacious master suite and an additional bedroom, enhancing comfort and utility. The architectural refresh maintains the home’s original character while integrating contemporary volumes, fresh color palettes, and innovative materials. The result? A residence that feels effortlessly modern yet rooted in its past.

Landscaping plays a pivotal role, weaving greenery throughout the home to cultivate a sense of tranquility and balance. The Faria House isn’t just a renovation—it’s a redefinition of what a home should be, proving that great design is more than aesthetics; it’s about creating a space that truly enhances everyday living.
