Farer has introduced the Racing Chronograph, a 38.5mm hand-wound chronograph that channels the feel of pre-automatic motorsport timers through the brand’s typically sharp use of color. The new collection launches in three references—Volante, Gara, and Libre—each built around the same compact stainless steel case and Sellita SW510M b movement, but with a distinct racing-inspired personality.

Volante uses a blue sunburst dial with cream engine-turned subdials and orange accents, while Gara pairs a silver dial with a British Racing Green ceramic bezel and matching green hands. Libre takes the boldest approach, combining a grainy white dial with a burgundy ceramic bezel, sky-blue chronograph hands, and a big-eye layout that enlarges the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock.

All three models use a 316L stainless steel case measuring 38.5mm wide, 44mm lug-to-lug, and 13.4mm thick including the domed sapphire crystal. The bidirectional 24-click ceramic bezel uses a 12-hour count-up scale filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova, and the applied markers and hands are also lume-filled for low-light visibility. A sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the Swiss-made Sellita SW510M b, an Elaboré-grade hand-wound chronograph caliber with Top Grade finishing, 23 jewels, a 4Hz beat rate, and roughly 63 hours of power reserve.
The choice of a manual chronograph movement is the point. Farer keeps the watch closer in spirit to the 1960s racing chronographs that inspired it, before automatic chronographs reshaped the category. Priced at $2,095, the Racing Chronograph gives Farer another compact, enthusiast-focused release that balances vintage reference points with modern proportions, color, and everyday 100m utility.
