British watchmaker Farer has introduced a new addition to its best-selling GMT collection – the Farer Palmer GMT. This limited edition timepiece combines sleek design with practical functionality, making it an ideal choice for modern gentlemen.
The Palmer GMT boasts a pearlescent opaline dial, which adds a touch of elegance to its minimalist aesthetic. The watch features a GMT function, allowing wearers to track a second time zone effortlessly. The dial is designed with high contrast, ensuring readability in both daylight and darkness. Lumicast baton hour markers, made of Super-LumiNova and ceramic, provide luminous blocks that are overprinted with black, further enhancing legibility.
The Farer Palmer GMT showcases a stainless steel case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 10.8mm in thickness, making it comfortable for everyday wear. With polished bezels and brushed lug tops, this timepiece exudes a versatile smart-casual appeal that can be dressed up or down. The winding crown is inset with Farer’s signature bronze cap embossed with the iconic ‘A.’ The boxed sapphire crystal offers exceptional scratch resistance, while the internal anti-reflective coating ensures optimal legibility.
At the heart of the Palmer GMT beats the Sellita SW330-2 automatic movement. This reliable caliber features 25 jewels, a smooth rate of 28,800 bph (4Hz), and an impressive power reserve of 56 hours. The ‘Top Grade’ version of the SW330, adjusted for accuracy in five positions, is showcased through the sapphire case back, revealing the beautifully decorated movement.
The Palmer GMT is a tribute to Edward Henry Palmer, an English orientalist and explorer. Known for his interest in other cultures, Palmer’s journey through the Middle East inspired the watch’s name. Unfortunately, his pursuit of securing peace during the Egyptian conflict led to his untimely demise. Today, his legacy lives on through the Farer Palmer GMT.
With only 150 pieces available, the Farer Palmer GMT is a limited edition timepiece priced at $1,450. Its combination of style, functionality, and exclusivity makes it a must-have for watch enthusiasts seeking a minimalist and refined companion for their wrist.
