The Oscars of the watchmaking industry, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève awarded the Laurent Ferrier Galet Annual Calendar top honors in the Men’s Complication category for 2018. Hot on the heels of this triumph, Laurent Ferrier has released another Galet Annual Calendar model inspired by the simple purity and the beautiful contrast of the traditional chessboard.
Fittingly, the 40mm watch is available in opaline black or opaline white. To augment its timeless look, the dial features vintage-inspired imprinted numerals in light blue and red against the black dial and in dark blue and burgundy against the white dial. Both dials feature a circular satin-brushed outer circle, a snailed-finish center, and beveled day and month apertures. The Galet Annual Calendar is powered by the Caliber n°126.01 double hairspring tourbillon movement, the very first manual winding movement that Laurent Ferrier employed, with an annual calendar complication and a power reserve of 80 hours.
