The most important Fairphone upgrade is not a camera or a bigger screen. The Fairphone Gen. 6+ is the first model the company sells directly in the United States with standard Android, local support, and a price that no longer depends on a specialist importer.

The hardware refresh is measured but useful. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 replaces the Gen 3 chip, RAM rises from 8GB to 12GB, and storage remains 256GB with microSD expansion up to 2TB.

The 6.31-inch 120Hz OLED, removable 4,415mAh battery, 50-megapixel main camera, 13-megapixel ultrawide, and 32-megapixel front camera carry over from the Fairphone 6. Android 16 arrives installed, with software support promised through 2033.

Longevity remains the real specification. Twelve modules—including the display, battery, USB-C port, and cameras—can be replaced with a Torx T5 screwdriver. The phone carries an IP55 rating, a five-year warranty, and military-grade drop testing. Screw-mounted rear accessories include a card holder and lanyard, while Cobalt Blue joins Forest Green and Horizon Black.
The unlocked Gen. 6+ is available now for $649.99 and supports T-Mobile and AT&T. It ships to every U.S. state except Alaska and Hawaii; Fairphone is also selling replacement parts domestically.
