Built for the annual 12.4-mile Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, where builder Michael “Woolie” Woolaway finished 4th in his division, the Deus Ex Machina Beastie is a nearly complete rebuild of the 2018 version. The 2019 bike retains only the electronics, seat section, front wheel, and front number plate. The Beastie features a Ducati 1198R motor with a Nova gearbox. The first gear is taller and the gears are placed closer together for improved acceleration.

The frame is a Ducati Street Fighter, with changes that include a Ducati 999 head tube, longer swingarm made of magnesium, and a pivot link featuring a shorter adjuster and shock. The subframe is also customized, making the whole bike sit 4 inches lower. The 3-gallon gas tank is made of aluminum 1100-O.

With a minimalist feel throughout, the bike generates 180 hp with no rider-aided electronics. The Beastie is available for purchase in Los Angeles.
