Danner calls its new release, the Free Spirit, a boot for the modern hiker with a retro heart. Hearkening back to the fashionable yet functional hiking boots of the 1980s, the Danner Free Spirit boot effortlessly combines a retro look with modern styling. The Free Spirit can just as easily be paired with your favorite jeans or worn out on the trail. Notable features of the boot include the dual-density midsole that provides increased stability thanks to its firm edges. The Danner boot sports a softer midsole, purposefully designed for targeted traction, along with triangle lugs on the outsole that provides lots of surface contact. In addition, the GORE-TEX liner effectively defends against sudden downpours or deep puddles on the trail.

The Free Spirit was first introduced back in 1988 as part of the Danner Crosshikers collection. Now, some three decades later, the boot is once again available but in a newly designed capacity with updated materials and a contemporary look worthy of modern times. Not to worry, though, as hikers can still enjoy hints of 80s inspiration within the modern design as the laces and splashes of accent colors combine to create an old-school vibe. Not only are these stylish Danner boots rugged and up to the challenge of even the most arduous terrain, but they have also been designed with modern comfort technology to ensure all-day comfort wear. The brand describes it as 21st-century comfort with 80s aesthetics.
