Open-ear earbuds are built to keep the outside world within earshot, but Nothing’s CMF sub-brand puts its most distinctive control off the ear entirely. The CMF Clip Pro places a rotating Smart Dial on its charging case for adjusting volume, controlling playback, answering calls, and pairing devices without reaching for a phone.
CMF’s first open-ear model uses a three-point clip designed to distribute pressure around the ear instead of entering the canal. An elastic titanium-wire core allows the C-shaped bridge to flex, while each earbud weighs 0.21 ounces. Physical controls remain on the earbuds, making the case-mounted dial an additional interface rather than a replacement.
A 10.8 mm dual-magnet dynamic driver handles audio, supported by Hi-Res Audio certification and LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs. The setup brings higher-resolution wireless support to a category generally chosen for comfort and environmental awareness.
Four microphones and a dedicated voice-processing unit manage calls, while a configurable Sound Seal system aims to reduce leakage. Multipoint Bluetooth 5.4 and an IP54 rating for the earbuds add everyday utility alongside more conventional wireless earbuds.
Battery life reaches 10 hours per charge and 32.5 hours with the case; a 10-minute charge supplies up to four hours. Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Coral versions launch in the US, UK, and Japan on August 15. The Clip Pro carries a $99 regular price, although Nothing currently lists US preorders at $79.
