Caviar’s luxurious remakes have included cladding smartphones, sneakers, airpods, and watches in pure gold, precious stones, carbon fiber, and leathers to achieve eye-popping results. The brand’s latest project takes on the Sony PlayStation 5 by creating a reimagined version dubbed the PlayStation 5 Golden Rock Edition. Caviar’s version has the PS5 completely encased in 18-carat gold. And it is not just the console, the DualSense controller of the Golden Rock Edition also gets the royal treatment, with crocodile leather detailing.
Caviar’s craftsmen covered the PlayStation console with eight sheets cast from solid gold for a total weight of 44 pounds of the precious metal. Further, the touchpad on the Caviar PS5 also appears to be golden, which leads us to assume Caviar used 18-carat gold here, as well. The company is producing a single Golden Rock console and while the price has not been confirmed, given the price of gold, it is anticipated that it will push the $1 million mark.
