In 2022, data from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States revealed that agave-based liquors such as mescal and tequila were the fastest-growing category for the year, overtaking whiskey and vodka. As such, there has been a rise in high-end tequilas, such as the recently announced Casa Obsidiana Tequila, showcasing the artistry behind this popular drink.

Bringing together the distilled vision of two influential families, the Casa Obsidiana Tequila combines their mastery of the craft with the four elements of matter with stunning results. The estate-grown Blue Weber agave used to create this tequila is utilized in conjunction with French and American oak wine barrels that introduce a hint of vanilla to the flavor.

Distilled at the base of el Volcán de Tequila, the collection offers three variations for tequila fans, with Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo, each bringing its flavor profile to the table. The Blanco, inspired by the agave pina, papaya, white flowers, and allspice, offers a lush sensation with an additional kick thanks to the inclusion of black pepper.

The four-month-aged Reposado takes its inspiration from the dessert tray with a triple hit of toffee, butterscotch, and hazelnut, adding a warming note through the winter spice and charred peppers. Caramel, cinnamon, and coffee provide the body for the final entry in the selection, the Añejo tequila. Aged for thirteen months, it encapsulates the rich, full-bodied volcanic earth from which the agave is cultivated. With each tequila contained in stunning bottles that feature a pure obsidian relic, the Casa Obsidiana Tequila set is a must for collectors.
