Casa La Quinta is a stunning weekend house that finds the perfect balance between standing out and fitting in with its small town surroundings in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. The home features exposed wood, large floor-to-ceiling windows, and three unique patios. Without the added advantage of a stunning view, Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados + Alfonso de la Concha Rojas had to create natural areas that subtly connected the outdoors with the interior social spaces. The results was a series of patios that each have a specific character and use.
The patios also provide Casa La Quinta with a different perception of space, time, light, and shadows. This perception gives residents a feeling of simultaneous singularity and unity as they move throughout the home’s rooms. Open staircases, sliding window-paned doors that offer direct access to the interior patios, and subtly placed water features help to transform Casa La Quinta into a tranquil space of relaxation and reflection, making it the perfect weekend getaway.
