First Look: Harrison Ford Joins MCU In ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero who fully embraces Captain America’s mantle.

Marvel Studios has just dropped the highly anticipated teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World giving fans a glimpse into Sam Wilson’s next high-stakes mission. Anthony Mackie reprises his role as the high-flying hero who has officially taken up the mantle of Captain America.

The teaser begins with a gripping scene set in the White House, where Sam confronts the newly-elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. This tense interaction hints at a complicated past between the two, as Ross, in his former role as Secretary of State, was responsible for the arrest of Sam and his fellow Avengers during Captain America: Civil War. Now, as President, Ross aims to collaborate with Sam, envisioning Captain America as an official military role.

However, this budding alliance faces immediate threats when Sam gets entangled in an international crisis, with retired super-soldier Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) emerging as the prime suspect. The trailer showcases a suspenseful chase and a climactic showdown, teasing the appearance of the formidable Red Hulk.

Fans will also spot familiar faces such as Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, who has inherited Sam’s old wings to become the new Falcon, and Tim Blake Nelson returning as Samuel Sterns, AKA The Leader, after his last appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. New to the ensemble is Shira Haas, playing Ruth Bat-Seraph, a former Black Widow turned high-ranking U.S. official trusted by President Ross. The cast also includes Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Xosha Roquemore.

Directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, Captain America: Brave New World is set to premiere on February 14, 2025.
