Shortly before his father passed away, Buffalo Jackson founder Xan Hood invited him on a hiking excursion in South Dakota’s Badlands National Park. When his father arrived, he brought along an old canvas duffle backpack that was so full of goodies that Xan was amazed to watch him haul it through the wilderness. It turned out that the bag originally belonged to the college roommate of Xan’s father – a young man named Frank who never came back from a tour of duty in the Vietnam War.
Based on this unique vintage backpack, the new Buffalo Jackson Dakota Military Sea Bag Backpack retains a distinct military style despite its luxurious qualities and features. Composed of wax-coated 15-ounce canvas and top grain vegetable tanned leather with distressed vintage finishing, this bag is put together with hammered copper rivets.
