Bentley’s Mulliner division specialises in one‑off commissions, and its Batur series — based on the limited‑production coupe unveiled in 2022 — pushes the bespoke envelope even further. The fourth Batur Convertible has just been revealed, and it showcases the lengths the British marque will go to satisfy its customers. Finished in a tri‑tone livery developed with its client, the body transitions from a dark metallic into a rich burgundy before fading into a creamy light hue. A 6 mm gloss‑silver fine line underscores the endless bonnet, while the fabric roof is colour‑matched to the body rather than rendered in standard black.

Inside, the owner worked with Mulliner to create a custom animation projected on the ground when the doors open, literally welcoming passengers. This is also the first Bentley to use 3D‑printed platinum: the top‑dead‑centre marker on the steering wheel and the organ‑stop ventilation controls are crafted from the precious metal. Power comes from Bentley’s hand‑assembled 6.0‑litre twin‑turbo W12 producing 740 horsepower, driving all four wheels through an eight‑speed dual‑clutch transmission. The Batur Convertible has been commissioned ahead of the final run of W12 engines, making it one of the last cars to pair Bentley’s most potent powerplant with open‑top motoring.

The cabin uses warm autumnal hues and features unique surfaces like “engine spin” aluminium and basket‑weave leather; almost every component can be colour‑matched or finished in sustainable materials. Bentley does not disclose the price, but given the coupe’s $2 million sticker and the bespoke work involved, expect the cost to be similarly stratospheric. Only 18 Batur Convertibles will be built, each completely unique.

Ultra‑lux convertibles like this invite comparison to other high‑end grand tourers; see our coverage of the Rolls‑Royce Ghost Series II for another take on modern luxury. For those who prefer off‑road style, we recently looked at the rugged modifications of the AEV FXL Ford Super Duty.
