The Baume & Mercier Baume Ocean II is a watch with intention. It symbolizes the company and its customers’ commitment to protecting the environment. The Baume Ocean II is a marine-inspired timepiece made with upcycled plastic pollution collected by the Waste Free Oceans NGO. Even the strap features woven recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) with a natural black cork lining. Baume & Mercier has been collaborating with Waste Free Oceans and SEAQUAL since the company began the BAUME initiative in 2018. The goal is to combine timepiece innovation with eco-responsibility to create eye-catching, luxury products that don’t sacrifice the environment.
The Baume Ocean II’s deep blue coloring is reminiscent of the depths of the Pacific. It is an automatic, self-winding watch with a power reserve of 38 hours. The 42mm Ocean II is also ready for contact with the sea, as it is water-resistant to roughly 30 meters. It all functions via the ultra-reliable Swiss Made Sellita SW200 movement. Consumers can expect to see more watches made from upcycled ocean waste material in the coming months and years. This stunning ocean-inspired timepiece is now available on the Baume & Mercier website.
