Synonymous with automotive performance, the term “Silver Arrows” dates back to the 1930s when the German press used it to describe the Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union Grand Prix racecars. At the time, these cars dominated the world of auto sport. First and foremost, the press chose the term to reflect the cars’ exceptional speed and streamlined design. However, the Silver Arrows also saved weight by eliminating paint and allowing the bare silver aluminum bodywork to show through.
To commemorate these exceptional racecars, Automobilist recently released a set of four posters on high-quality paper stock that befits the beauty of their iconic subject material. The offset printing methods used by Automobilist engender vibrant color reproduction that resists fading.
Available for $30 each, this series includes the Avus, Auto Union Type C, Auto Union Type D, and Mercedes Benz W154. Production of these posters is limited to 1000 units, and every one is labeled with a special hologram sticker as a benchmark of authenticity.
Designed for easy framing, these posters measure 50 by 70 centimeters and are printed on 180-gram beige rough paper. They ship rolled in protective tube to ensure safe delivery.
