The Aston Martin Vanquish may not be as high-tech or advanced as the new DB11, but it’s still an achingly beautiful car that makes our knees weak. As Aston Martin ushers in a new chapter with the DB11, the Vanquish also gets an update with the Vanquish S.
Although fans have a hard time finding fault in the design and the naturally aspirated, albeit old school, V12 under the hood, the updates make the Vanquish S a more focused car, with Aston Martin paying careful attention to upgrading the engine, chassis, and aerodynamics. The V12 now produces 580 hp and 465 ft-lb of torque, which gets sent to the pavement via a recalibrated 8-speed Touchtronic III transmission for faster shifts. The exterior is marked by a more aggressive aerodynamics package and new quad exhaust outlets. Opening the doors of this sculpture on wheels reveal an equally stunning interior with ‘Filograph’ quilted leather and the use of new materials and finishes, such as the Satin Chopped Carbon Fibre fascia panel. A byword is British design and craftsmanship, the Vanquish S will start at a price tag of $312,950, with deliveries starting next month.
