Outdoor recreation was already booming in popularity before pandemic-era social distancing saw a whole new crop of hikers and backpackers hitting the trails. But, the past year’s slowdown notwithstanding, we also find ourselves busier than ever these days, and the realities of work away schedules mean a lot of outdoorsy guys aren’t able to pull off as many week-long backcountry treks—let alone those long-distance, bucket list thru-hikes—as they’d like. The Arc’teryx Aerios 30 Backpack, part of the company’s expanded Aerios series, is aimed at weekend warriors and pushing-the-limits day hikers looking to maximize adventure even on those quick escapes into the backcountry. The 30L capacity of the Arc’teryx Aerios 30 Backpack is generous enough for ultralight backpacking overnighters, but also ideal for day trips, as it has room for those wilderness essentials—extra layers, fire-starting materials, emergency shelter—important to haul even for what is intended as just an afternoon walkabout.

The pack features Arc’teryx’s innovative Liquid Crystal Polymer ripstop fabric that offers supreme durability in a lightweight package, plus a thoughtful design with ample external storage, an adjustable harness, and an AeroForm back panel for breathability. The breathable shoulder harness houses two zippered pockets to accommodate soft flasks for drinking on the go or if preferred, the main compartment is hydration bladder compatible with a reservoir clip. All versions of the Aerios Backpack feature an adjustable sternum strap, two side pockets with a fast closure system for easy access, and two trekking pole attachment points.
