Today, Apple unveiled one of its newest additions to the iPhone family: the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. The new iPhone 14’s hardware architecture pairs perfectly with iOS 16. The two combined feature Apple’s longest-lasting battery to date, with 20 hours of video playback, customized lock-screen, and upgraded safety features such as emergency SOS via satellite and automatic crash detection.
The upgraded front-facing camera features with TrueDepth auto-focus and a larger aperture, and the new main camera group boasts 2.5x better low-light performance on the primary camera and 2x on the Ultra-Wide camera. The revamped cinematic mode shifts focus to the most important subject in a scene at 4K (24 fps) – the same rate as feature films. The display on the larger model (iPhone 14 Plus) features OLED, high-resolution color technology making everything look crisp, sharp, and true-to-life.
While the new phone features an A15 Bionic 5-core processor, the same as iPhone 13, added thermal efficiency in the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus allow for cooler and more efficient operation. No-SiM-card technology allows multiple phone numbers and data plans on the same device, including International coverage plans for the frequent traveler.
The iPhone 14 features a 6.1-inch diagonal screen, and the iPhone 14 Plus features a 6.7-inch screen with both models available in five colors: blue, purple, midnight, starlight, and (product) red. They have capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The iPhone 14 will be available starting September 16, and the iPhone 14 Plus on October 7. Preorders will be available from Apple beginning at 8 a.m. EDT/5 a.m. PDT on Friday, September 9, 2022.
