Riding high on the success of his re-release of the Air Jordan III, legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield has gone on to creatively reimagine and dramatically reconstruct the Nike Air Max brand. Hatfield’s most recent effort is in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the initial 1990 release of the Air Max 90 (originally sold as the Air Max III). The Air Max 90 became a classic by the 2000s and now holds a special place in the sneaker giant’s lore.

The Air Max 90 CS meticulously re-crafts the original design while bringing about significant changes to the toe box height, panel scale, and heel panel. Inside, the shoe features original ultra-plush Air Max 90 linings and a sock liner with an Air Max 1 outsole on the bottom. It also comes in a range of colorways that were inspired by the first wave of the Air Max III. To go the whole 9 yards, Nike even recreated its trademark skinny box design that feels like opening up a time capsule.
