The A. Lange & Sohne Odysseus is an elegant, precise watch that takes a different approach with its movement by using a freely oscillating balance spring for improved accuracy. That attention to detail is at the core of the company’s first foray at a sports watch. The crown is secured with a screwed-down case back to better handle active use. Within that 40.5mm stainless steel case lies hand-crafted pieces, brush-finished surfaces, and finely chamfered edges. This makes it a perfect companion for weekend sails, hikes, and even swims — thanks to its water-resistance.
The timepiece case has a three-part stainless steel design and its face features an oversized date indicator. The hands and appliques are white gold on a dark-blue dial. The hour and minute hands, along with the hour markers are luminous for easy visibility.
The tailor-made movement is reimagined in keeping with A. Lange & Sohne’s renowned watchmaking and engineering expertise. Even the parts that can’t be seen get the company’s well-known luxury finishing treatment and contribute to a new balance that operates at 28,000 semi-oscillations (4 hertz) per hour. There are 312 parts, 31 rubies, and a 50-hour power reserve.
