The origins of the A. Lange & Söhne Lange brand date back to 1845. The ravages of war-torn Germany gradually destroyed a company that had grown to become one of the finest timepiece manufacturers in the world. Flash forward to the fall of the Berlin Wall in the early 1990s, when the great-grandson of company founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange joined with entrepreneur Günter Blümlein to resurrect A. Lange & Söhne with a truly exceptional wristwatch – the now iconic Lange 1.

Now that a full quarter century has elapsed since the release of the watch, A. Lange & Söhne Lange is paying tribute to the Lange 1 with an exceptional re-release. The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 25th Anniversary retains the asymmetric dial layout, oversized date counter, and everything that made the original 1994 release such a classic. But it reimagines the raw materials and color scheme of the original with a white gold case, solid silver dial, and ample blue accents that include multiple delicate hands of blue steel, a date counter with numerals etched in blue, and a blue alligator strap. You’ll also notice the hunter case back, which opens up to reveal the beautiful manually wound movement. The watch measures 38.5mm in diameter and 10.7mm in thickness and is limited to 250 pieces.
