You may remember the 25th anniversary Lange 1 released just before SIHH this year. A stunning piece as it was (as it is automatically with any A. Lange & Söhne), the watch was… less than what we expected from a 25th anniversary piece. After all, it was basically the original Lange 1 but just in white gold with blue accents. Given that the German brand had no shortage of stellar limited pieces at its SIHH booth this year, we felt that it was somewhat overshadowed.
But it seems that Lange wasn’t done celebrating. A. Lange & Söhne just released a 25th anniversary limited version of the Grand Lange 1 Moonphase, in a similar white gold case with a silver dial and blue accents. Everything else is pretty much the same as the yellow gold and platinum Grand Lange 1 Moonphase versions, with the same Calibre L095.3 hand-wound movement with a 72 hour power reserve in a 41mm case — except, perhaps, the exquisite, hand-engraved, silver monotone moonphase window.
The 25th anniversary Grand Lange 1 Moonphase is limited to 25 pieces, as opposed to 250 pieces of the other celebratory Lange 1.
