The 1960s Volkswagen Microbus remains one of the most iconic vehicles of its generation, as visually unique as the manufacturer’s equally loved Beetle. Now, the company has revealed details surrounding its latest cutting-edge project that blends its classic past’s smooth-curved lines and spacious interior.
Available later in 2024, the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz represents a stylish reinterpretation of the iconic Microbus, with three trims available at launch, including the Pro 5, Pro 5 Plus, and limited 1st Edition. Each model sports a 91 kWh battery capable of putting out 282 horsepower in the RWD models, increasing to 335 horsepower for the 4Motion AWD models.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz’s interior has plenty of space for passengers and equipment, with a three-row seating arrangement capable of six- or seven-seat configurations. It sits comfortably within an overall vehicle size comparable to Volkswagen’s Atlas Cross Sport, and it’s spacious enough to comfortably fit an entire volleyball team with a little room to spare.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as it is practical, sporting a two-tone paintwork that blends vibrant colored doors with a white upper half. Additional standard features expected include 20-inch wheels, 30-color ambient lighting, Park Assist Plus, and an infotainment system with a 12.9-inch screen.
While full details on the trim and optional extras are yet to be unveiled, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is expected to include captain’s chairs, premium sound systems, a heads-up display, and an electrochromic panoramic glass roof for those who want the full suite of features.
