Debuting alongside the new-generation Cooper Electric is the 2024 Mini Countryman EV. The largest vehicle in the brand’s fleet, the compact SUV grew compared to its predecessor. Boasting an increase in length by 5 inches and 6 centimeters wider than the outgoing model. With new interior and exterior styling and smarter tech, the new Countryman’s lineup will also offer diesel and gasoline variants based on region.
The 2024 Mini Countryman styling features a floating cap-style roof with distinct C-pillars that doubles as a signature between trim levels. Other details include flush door handles, sculpted fenders with plastic cladding around the wheel arches, squared headlamps, and 20-inch wheels.
Like the equally new 2024 Cooper Electric, the Countryman shares a platform and interior styling. The 9.44-inch round OLED infotainment sits in the dashboard’s center and does away with most of the traditional controls. An optional heads-up display provides vital information for the driver.
The 2024 Mini Countryman electric features Level 2 Assistance Systems for semi-autonomous driving and selectable drive modes that alter the display settings and ambient lighting. The multiple drive modes include Go-Kart, Vivid, Core, Green, Timeless, Balance, Personal, and an exclusive Trail mode.
Powertrains for the 2024 Mini Countryman E offer a 204 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque motor providing 287 miles. The higher-spec Countryman SE delivers 313 hp and 384 lb.-ft with all-wheel drive at the cost of a slightly lower range of 269 miles. Both variants can be charged at up to 130 kW, taking less than 30 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. Additionally, the Countryman offers an optional electrically operated trailer hitch to tow up to 2,600 pounds. The new 2024 Mini Countryman electric goes into production in Germany later this year.
