BMW Motorrad unveiled details of the successor to its R nineT motorcycle for the 2024 model year. This new model, the 2024 BMW R 12 nineT, emphasizes its classic 70s aesthetic inspiration with some feature updates. BMW claims the bike’s retro appearance will encourage more freedom for individualization.
The 2024 BMW R 12 nineT retains its nostalgic flair with round dials and a single center-mounted round (LED) headlamp. The gas tank is a classic BMW boxer tank with a bend in the lower edge and knee contact – like the good ol’ days. New features include a redesigned twin-pipe exhaust system with a double muffler, conical end pieces, and a redesigned intake system and front fender. In addition, the rear taillight is now integrated into the seat.
The bike’s character is voiced with a 1,170cc two-cylinder air/oil-cooled boxer engine. Moreover, the bike’s number 12 nameplate is a distinction of its engine displacement, a naming technique BMW is known for doing with other models. More details on the 2024 BMW R 12 nineT motorcycle, including price and engine specifications, are expected to be unveiled later this year.
