Cadillac announced it would be fully electric by the year 2030. We see the first evidence of this in the all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV. The production model of the Cadillac Lyriq stayed true to the concept design. It features a black crystal front grille, an illuminated emblem, and lights programmed to activate in a choreographed sequence. The Lyriq’s narrow “slim-line” LED headlights at the front bear a family resemblance to the Escalade. The rear taillights wrap around the SUV’s rear pillars to form an L-shape.

The Lyriq’s presence makes it appear larger on digital screens. The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is shorter than the current Cadillac XT6 but offers a longer wheelbase. This is a luxury crossover, not a full-size SUV. Standard wheels on the Lyriq measure 20-inches, but being a Cadillac, there will be a 22-inch optional upgrade. Inside the Cadillac Lyriq’s minimalist but elegant cabin interior is an all-new steering wheel with a 33-inch long freestanding display dash for the driver. Cadillac stated the digital display screen is capable of showing over one billion colors. Interior accents come in the form of laser-etched wood and metal trim pieces. Its next-generation noise cancellation system will come in handy when your favorite song starts blaring through the Lyriq’s 19-speaker AKG audio system.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq uses a 100-kWh lithium-ion battery pack to supply power to a rear-mounted electric motor producing an estimated 340 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft of torque. No details on how fast the Lyriq will be, but Cadillac stated it should be capable of delivering over 300 miles of range on a single charge. A 190-kW DC fast charger will allow the Lyriq to gain up to 195 miles of range in 30 minutes. The electric Lyriq will also feature Cadillac’s SuperCruise semi-autonomous driving system – currently the only ‘hands-free’ system on the market. Cadillac will begin accepting reservations for the 2023 Lyriq in September, with first deliveries scheduled for early 2022.
