Honda has released the latest generation of its adorably compact Monkey motorcycle. For the 2022 model year, the Honda Monkey 125 received a five-speed transmission bolted to its 125cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine. This new transmission gives riders an extra gear to use compared to the outgoing 2021 model. In addition, spotting a 2022 Honda Monkey 125 will be easy thanks to its two distinctive color options – Banana Yellow, Red, and Pearl Black. The Honda Monkey was first imported to the U.S. in 1968, sporting a bite-sized 49cc engine. Since then, this little motorcycle has earned a cult status among enthusiasts. It’s a practical, compact motorcycle making it ideal for zipping around town. Besides being a fuel-efficient space saver, the Honda Monkey is a cute motorcycle. It looks like the kind of bike a trained grizzly bear would ride at a circus.
Its 125cc engine produces 9.2-hp and 8.1 lb.-ft of torque. Standard features on the 2022 Honda Monkey 125 include an electric starter and hydraulic disc brakes. Riders can also opt for the Honda Monkey 125 ABS trim level, with the main difference being the addition of anti-lock brakes. So how small is this motorcycle? Well, the seat is only 30.6-inches off the ground and has a curb weight of 232 pounds. Its fuel tank holds 1.5-gallons, with a half-gallon reserve.
