This week Cadillac debuted the latest evolution of its BMW M division fighter, the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The 2022 CT5-V Blackwing is officially the most powerful Cadillac ever created. Proof of this claim is only a hood pull away, unveiling a hand-built 6.2-liter supercharged V8, pumping out 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. That means the CT5-V Blackwing is more powerful than the current BMW M5. The good news continues from the engine to the standard six-speed manual transmission and ends in a cloud of tire smoke from the rear wheels – only. The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a throwback to sports sedans from not that long ago before everyone started fitting twin-turbo kits and all-wheel-drive systems.
Customers can option the Blackwing with a ten-speed automatic, and Cadillac estimates it will allow the CT5-V Blackwing to hit zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds. Top speed has not been announced, but claims put it at over 200 mph – in a Cadillac! The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is built to attack corners with an arsenal of upgraded suspension components, including Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires to ensure the best lap time. The starting price is under $90k, making it a subjective bargain compared to its German competition. The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will arrive in summer 2021.
