2020 promises to be a seriously fast year in the world of sports cars. Around the same time that Ford announced the release of the 700-horsepower 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, Toyota is divulging official information about the widely leaked fifth-generation Supra A90.
Toyota’s public introduction of the 2020 GR Supra has been timed to coincide precisely with the five-year university of the FT-1 Concept. As anticipated, the basic design of the new Supra owes a great deal to the extremely muscular FT-1 study.
And the operational performance of the 2020 GR Supra lives up to its powerful performance. Although its 3.0-liter, turbocharged, straight-six engine produces less than half of the horsepower as its Mustang Shelby competitor, it can still rocket from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a hair above four seconds – a speed that makes the 2020 GR Supra the quickest production vehicle in Toyota history.
