There are Ferraris, and then there’s the F40 — the final machine personally signed off by Enzo Ferrari, a stripped-down, twin-turbocharged missile built to scream “no compromises.” But even among the 1,315 F40s ever built, this one, chassis 94647, stands alone. Dubbed the “Blue Chip F40”, it’s a bold reinterpretation of the most visceral Ferrari ever created — and it’s heading to auction with a projected price tag between $2.5 and $2.8 million.

Originally delivered in 1992 to flamboyant Bolognese nightclub owner Paolo Pazzaglia, this Italian-market example began life like the rest — in Ferrari’s iconic Rosso Corsa. But after decades of meticulous care and a stint in the UK under notable custodians, including TV presenter Paul Martin, it underwent a radical transformation.

Enter Furlonger Specialist Cars. Under their expert hands, chassis 94647 was reimagined for the modern era without sacrificing its soul. Out went the stock gearbox, replaced by a rare Michelotto-developed F40 LM racing transmission. The turbo system was upgraded with enhanced wastegates, and the exhaust was swapped for a snarling Tubi system. The KW fully adjustable suspension, combined with a lift kit, 355mm Brembo GT brakes, and even air conditioning, transforms this F40 into something shockingly usable, without dulling the danger.

Visually, it’s a showstopper. The car was resprayed in Azzurro Hyperion, a refined, understated blue rarely seen on Maranello’s wildest creation. Inside, blue Alcantara upholstery adds a modern touch to the otherwise bare-knuckle cabin. It’s still brutally analog: no carpet, no stereo, no distractions. Just you, the turbos, and the tarmac.
And don’t worry, purists — before any of the modifications, the car was Ferrari-certified Classiche in 2013. The Red Book, COA, and original gearbox are all included with the sale, along with a comprehensive archive of documents and service history dating back to more than two decades.
This “Blue Chip F40” is more than just a rare Ferrari — it’s a rolling manifesto. A one-of-one tribute to Enzo’s final word in performance, reimagined for those bold enough to drive a legend daily.
